Thank you, Mr. Speaker Pro Temp. Good morning, colleagues. And oh, what a beautiful morning it is. I mean, let's face it. Every day is great to be a Michigan Wolverine. And last night, the men's basketball team won the NCAA championship, defeating a very good team from UConn, 69 to 63. Congratulations to head coach Dusty May and all the folks back in Ann Arbor on a truly historic season. Hail to the victors and go blue. Now, if you know that sports are awesome, that they are more than entertainment provided by the physically gifted, that they about pluck and passion and perseverance and that they provide a much respite from the day doldrums that too often define the human condition then you should vote yes on the motion I'm about to make to approve the House Journal of Monday, April 6th. On the other hand, if you think March Madness is silly, that it's all a bunch of nonsense, and that we as a society pay way too much attention to sports ball, then by all means, please be the Debbie Downers you are and vote no. And with that, Mr. Speaker pro temp, I move that the House Journal of Monday, April 6, 2026 be approved as corrected by the Chief Clerk.

A

You have heard the very compelling motion that the journal be approved as corrected by the Chief Clerk. All those in favor say aye.

B

Aye.

A

All those opposed, no.

B

No.

A

The motion is adopted. Members, we're on to announcements and introductions. Representative Mabry.
