Fellow members of the committee include Senator Sam Sudden, Senator Jose Sierra Leone, Senator Brian Kavanaugh, Senator Monica Martinez, Rod Rollinson and ranking member, Senator Jake Ashby. Senate Bill 118A by Senator Clear and I to amend the Elder law in relation to the dissemination of information pertaining to Alzheimer's disease and other forms of dementia through the New York Connects Choices for long term care program.
In this bill, which passed through committee and on the floor from 2023 to 2025, requires a state level centrally located database of successful dementia and Alzheimer's disease program to be made available through New York Connects. Are there any questions or comments?

This program will proactively disseminate educational and awareness materials as well as help develop a direct training program for service providers Employers and senior centers. This bill has passed through a committee and on the floor in numerous years running and the Governor continues to veto it despite agreeing with the policy goal of having a designated office that can serve as a resource for our fastest growing population and growing working population, our older New Yorkers, many of whom still work. We continue to believe that having the Office of Older Adult Workforce Development and statute is the glasses. I will see.

This legislation which is passed through committee and will multiple years in a row will require localities that offer screen and dream to have a comprehensive language and communication assistance program to reach those who have limited English proficiency or require other communication such as to those who are deaf or blind. This legislation which passed in 2025 would add a critical responsibility to existing Senior center council which end within nysofa. In addition to their current duties, the council will be required to engage in statewide planning of both a programmatic and fiscal nature to ensure the long term sustainability and viability of senior centers in all areas of the state. Senate Bill 1991 by Senator Clear and Active to amend the Elder Law in relation to establishing a State Master Plan on Aging Dashboard.
This legislation is developed to ensure transparency, accountability and ultimately implementation of State State Master plan on the 8th. The plan is currently static but by adding a consumer friendly website and an updated implementation tracker accessible all we can increase engagement, advocacy and ultimately enhance our shared efforts on behalf of older New Yorkers. This legislation is supported by statewide Senior Action Council and Live on New York.

This legislation responds to a general question that all members of the Aging committee have.

allocating enough resources to support opening doctors?
Many tell us the answer is yes, but experience in our communities tells us otherwise. The reporting call for this bill will help us respond. Basically, you cannot tell what is being done always because it's scattered in so many different departments.
