Madam Chair.
Here. Okay, we are going to hear two bills today. We're starting with Senate Bill 26035, and we have our bill sponsor at the table. Committee members, any questions for the bill sponsor?
No, but I have questions.
Oh, you have a question. Okay.
I mean, I'm fine.
Senator Kirkmeyer.
Thank you, Madam Chair. I'm fine with the bill. we just don't do not put this 30,943 on especially when it looks like several of the dollars are for personal services or the executive director's office personal services. When do they just have to like finally just do these things? Why do we have to keep funding it at 30,000 here, 12,000 there, another 26,000 there? I think this is ridiculous. I don't want to put this on. I'm for the bill though.
Okay. Senator Bridges.
Thank you, Madam Chair. I'd say the reason we put it on is when we don't, they come back to us like two years later, and they're like, so you denied $200,000 worth of fiscal notes, and now we need $200,000. They add up.
Senator Kirkmeyer.
So we haven't done that, but have we also checked what's the balance in their fund here? Have they been spending all the money we've been giving them, or are they just padding their budget over there?
I do not know what the balance in the drives cash fund is.
Me neither. So how about for now we take it off and if they find out they can't, they can always put it on in the House, right? This has got to go through the House deal?
Yes.
Well, why don't we start with moving the amendment. Thank you, Madam Chair.
I move Senate Bill 35 and J-001.
