We have a quorum. Thank you, Katie. With that, the first bill we're going to bring up today will be Senate Bill 225, printed number 377.
And De could you please give an overview of the bill Thank you Chairman and good morning members This bill amends Title 26 Eminent Domain of the Pennsylvania Consolidated Statutes to ensure that owners of a business whose property was taken through eminent domain are compensated for losses to their customer-based reputation or competitive advantage.
Thank you very much. Is there any questions or discussions on the bill? Seeing none, Chairman Lawrence?
Thank you, Mr. Chairman. Good morning, everyone. I appreciate the good chair bringing forth this legislation here. I do appreciate, I think, where the good gentleman, the senator, is coming from on this legislation. I actually think it's an idea that needs to move forward. I do have some concerns about some of the language in the legislation, particularly the definition of goodwill. But I will be supportive of the bill out of committee and want to encourage an affirmative vote. Thank you, Mr. Chairman.
Thank you, Chairman Loris. I also have a few of the stakeholders have weighed in on this, but I think this bill is important enough that we should move it out of committee. Are there any negative votes on either side on this, on the Senate bill?
All Republicans will be in the affirmative.
All Democrats, it passes unanimously. Representative Parker thank you for joining us today You were missed Thank you Next up for our consideration is Senate Bill 829 It is pinners number 906
Indira. Thank you, Chairman. Senate Bill 829, sponsored by Senator Dush, repeals and replaces the current state fossil and designates the hyperpentine bacetti, excuse me if I mispronounced it, as the official state fossil of the Commonwealth.
Thank you, Indira. Any comment or discussion on the Senate bill? Seeing none. Chairman Lawrence?
Thank you, Mr. Chairman. All Republicans will be in the affirmative on this. Thank you very much.
The bill passes unanimously. Our last bill for consideration will be Senate Bill 1353, printers number 1762. I believe it's Senator Martin's bill.
That is correct, Chairman. Senate Bill 1353, sponsored by Senator Martin. Senator Martin permits direct-to-consumer sales for non-motorized trailers.
Is there any discussion or comments? Seeing none, Chairman Lawrence.
Thank you, Mr. Chairman. I appreciate the good gentleman from Lancaster the senator for bringing forward this legislation I do think it addresses an important issue that facing several trailer manufacturers across the Commonwealth and it is something that I wholeheartedly support and would encourage an affirmative vote
Again, I concur with my fellow chairman. I had an opportunity to talk to one of the business owners who had been in business for 90 years, and unbeknownst to him, we had changed the law in his family business, and it's very, very important that we get this bill out. They'll help especially our local manufacturers in Pennsylvania. Any negative votes?
All Republicans will be in the affirmative.
The vote passes unanimously. Thank you all. That concludes our meeting today. Thank you.
