. Thank you.

Thank you I recognize that only one person per year has been convicted the fiscal analyst agreed that it's all likely that that will go down because we've already cleared through a bunch of cases where you would likely convict someone. Oh, hang on a second. The mics are not working. So you've got to say all that again. Can you do it faster this next time? Just a summary? Yeah. Can you give us the Okay. Now that we've already gone through it. Okay, so. And while you're doing that. We're still paused. I'm going to go say here in the finance community real quick. Oh, wait, I need to. I'll be right back. The mic's not working. Now she can hear us. Okay. Who's she, the fiscal MS?

No, our principal researcher.

Oh. Yes.

How are we doing Mr Martinez Great Great It great

All right. The first conference committee for House Bill 1258 will come to the order. Please roll. Senators and Representatives.

He Nixon. Here.

Martinez. Here.

Pelton R. Here still.

Sofer. Here.

Roberts. Excused.

And Tito. I am here.

Rep Sober, why don't you tell us about the differences between the Senate and the House version?

Thank you, ma'am. Sure. I'll keep this brief. In Senate appropriations, it was changed to the F-6, which is current law. would like to go back to the House version, which is an F5. It did pass the House unanimously while I am the House committee as well. The difference in penalties, we're looking at about 10 months longer in DOC. They assume that it will be one person per year. I was starting to say that in talking to the fiscal analyst and about how a lot of these cases were discovered within the funeral industry, now that we're moving to full licensure as of January 1st, 2027, we should have fewer cases than one per year This should dramatically drop And this is something that the victims have been asking for for a long time an increase in penalty here And this is something I want to be able to deliver on for the victims that I heard from from Penrose from Sunset Mesa And so for me, this was really carrying their water here.

Any further discussion on the amendment or the House version? All right, seeing no more discussion. Can I get a motion to adopt the, what do we call this? The conference committee report for, what did they both say, conference committee report?

002.

Oh, okay, all right, yeah, conference committee report 002.

I moved to adopt conference committee report 002.

All right. I need a second. Do we need a second?
